How To Apply

We encourage families to apply online as it simplifies submission and provides parents the ability to track the status of their child’s application. To begin the Application process, please Create an Account. Upon account creation, you will receive an email containing a verification link. Once your email address has been verified, log in to your account and Create A New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.

A non-refundable fee of $50 must be submitted with each application.

After submitting your application, you will be able to track your admissions status at the school by logging in to your account. In addition, you will be able to print the completed application, monitor when the school receives any applicable supplemental forms and, if necessary, reprint the forms.

Steps To Admission

I. Apply Online

Complete the Application for Admission here and submit all required application materials.

II. Schedule a Visit

The Academy is located at 395 Bridle Path Road, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 18017 on the property of the former School Sisters of St. Francis School for Girls.

III. Interview with the Headmaster

All families and students are required to meet with Mr. Heitzenrater prior to being accepted into Chrysostom Academy.

IV. Acceptance into the Academy

Once the application, school visit, and interview have occurred, a determination will be made on whether the application is accepted. If accepted, families would begin the Enrollment Process.

About Our Headmaster

John W. Heitzenrater II has nearly 17 years teaching and administrative experience in classical schools. Mr. Heitzenrater began his career teaching history and humanities at the Lady Margaret Roper School and St. Peter’s Orthodox Classical School in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2015, he joined Responsive Education Solutions and served as a founding headmaster, Director of K-12 History, Regional Director under the superintendent, and most recently as headmaster of the second largest Responsive Ed school with a student enrollment of approximately 915 students.

Mr. Heitzenrater received his A.B. magna cum laude from the College of St. Thomas More where he studied literature, philosophy, theology, classical languages, and history. In graduate school he attended the University of Dallas where he received his Master of Humanities with a concentration in history in 2016.

He and his family were received into the Orthodox Church on Lazarus Saturday 2019 after praying about and researching Orthodoxy for over two decades. He brings a love for student excellence, a passion for classical education, and a quest for virtue, holiness, and wisdom to students and families. He and his wife Christina have 11 children, seven girls and four boys, many of whom will attend St. John Chrysostom Academy.

Campus Visits

Campus visits at St. John Chrysostom Academy take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:45am-10:00am. Please call the main office at 610-427-2758 or email Mrs. Amy Chebib at achebib@chrysostomacademy.org to schedule a visit.

Class Shadowing

Students may shadow current St. John Chrysostom Academy students on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Please call the main office at 610-427-2758 or email Mrs. Amy Chebib at achebib@chrysostomacademy.org to schedule a shadowing opportunity for your child.
